The wires powering the broken bulb need to be cut and spiced together. Basically you’re bypassing the bulb and completing the circuit when cutting the wires going to the bulb on each end and splicing them together. WARNING: This worked for me but no guarantee for anyone who tries it.

This is a very involved procedure and involves completely dismantling your television. To be honest I don’t recommend anyone trying to fix it unless you are very technically minded and have a couple of hours to waste carefully tearing apart your TV. There may also be a way to 'reset' the tv by holding the power button down, try looking in the manual or calling customer support.
