Everyone switched to MAME32k for a reason. If this was an all CPS1/2 tournament, then it might've worked, but if you're doing that many neo geo games, you're gonna need to stick with MAME. Also, you'd get more people for 2K2 than you would for 2K3. Chances are this tournament is in Europe anyway though given your choice of emulator. Either that, or you're very new to netplay.
