Return To Mysterious Island 2 Patch 1.05
I played the original Mysterious Island on my Windows XP. Downloaded 2 just fine on Windows Vista Premium but from the start, the graphics flicker all over the place. The ultimate source of patches & addons for Return to Mysterious Island 2.
I played the original Mysterious Island on my Windows XP. Downloaded 2 just fine on Windows Vista Premium but from the start, the graphics flicker all over the place; some parts of the menu screen don't even show up. Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do? I've seen where some people had to update their drivers, but I'm even having a problem with that on Driver Detective. Shows I need to update drivers, but then it doesn't??? Just had an addtional card placed in this computer for the use of security cameras, but they aren't even hooked up yet.

According to this you have either an 'Enable/Disable PhysX' option or a 'Select PhysX Processor' option in your nVidia Control Panel. If you have the 'Select PhysX Processor' option, you choose 'CPU.' The quickest way to access your nVidia control panel is probably to right-click your desktop where there is no icon and look for it in the Context Menu that pops up.

Here's a link to another old thread that pertains to this problem: At the time when these threads were active I remember finding considerable documentation on the web that this was a recurring problem with newer Nvidia drivers and a lot of Kheops games.
I had this same problem with Nostradamus, Cleopatra, Safecraker (the newer one) and Secrets of DaVinci as well as RTMI2. There's even patches for several older games, Crystal Key 2 and Egyptian Prophecy that were specifically to fix problems with Nvidia drivers. Preformulation Studies Ppt. It has been an issue for a long time. Back when those threads were active there were reports that some people had success with reverting to older drivers, but my card was too new to work with those older drivers (refer to those older threads for more details). I still have RTMI2 installed, and changing the PhysX drivers to 'CPU' does NOT fix the problem for me. The windowed mode described in the 'Screen flicker problem' thread works for me for RTMI2 and for all the others that I have tried.
