Sorry if this seems like a silly question. It's my first time. You probably downloaded from a site like 'coolroom'. I went there and the download was 'CR_Downloader_for_visual-boy-advance.exe' instead of a simple zip or setup. Notice the 'Downloader' part.

That means it'll install a program to download the application, a shady practice. The alternative link from the same site was cleaner. About the sound, try disabling the throttling ( no throttle on the menu) instead of setting it to 100%. I tried here and it fixed the sound. I agree it it doesn't make much sense.
